Here we are, it's officially on the way now ! If you don't have Eurosport at home, there's Le Mans TV (not sure what's the language, there's probably an English channel anyway), the same stream, I think, can be found on the smartphone/tablet official app. Had a quick look, not much track images for now though... Or you can break bad and watch it *cough* elsewhere *cough*...And don't forget anyway you have Radio Le Mans, whether you can't watch it or you don't like the TV commentators ! Qualifications start today at 22:00 local time (9 BST) and tomorrow, I think 19:00 and 22 again. See you on this thread Saturday afternoon !

I will cry if Webber doesn't get pole You mean if Webber, Hartley and Bernhard don't get pole My gamble is Nissan gets class pole. They can do it if they push hard ! Wait what ? I'm told right now they're running in P1, not P2. I withdraw my bet.

Don't post that on GTP! They have decided that you are not allowed to diss this Nissan. No matter how funny it is!
I think its because those people hate the future LMP2, and don't think its very funny to talk about a (Nissan) LMP2 car that is doomed from 2017. However I do think are going to give ther teams a free upgrade to put it in the LMP1 class! XD
Are you guys watching quali?

Gaƫtan Paletou embodies the new GT Academy slogan, "From virtual into the barrier". Don't know why I'm in a trollish mood since yesterday. Edit: Just been thinking; since teams are only allowed to use 12 sets of tyres during the race, even if Nissan can make the rear tyres last for 8 or 10 stints, they'll reach the limit of 12 front tyres rather quickly ! This can be a serious concern Sunday morning !

I didn't think there was a tyre limit for le mans. They get 6 sets for a 6 hour race so they have to re use a set

There's 7 sets for free practice AND quali and then 12 sets for the race itself. It means at least triple stint per set, 4 to be comfortable !
I'm on quali, starts in 10 mins and weather looks clear for now !

hang on, so on average 2 hours a set of tyres?
That seems too good too me tbh

Yeah, that means approx. 3 stints of 40/50 minutes. But that's without counting on braking flat spots, punctures, etc... And it's slicks only, wets are unlimited for obvious safety reasons.

to me that personally doesn't sound too bad.....

Why would you want it to be bad ? If there were running on Pirelli nobody would finish the race. It's 24h mate, there's already enough challenge to deal with !

you said about Nissan running out of available tyres? But the limits sound really fair.
Or did I read what you said wrong?

I thought you were talking in general.
FF cars eat front tyres since they take 99% of the stress. But the limit is still 12 sets i.e. 12 front left and 12 front right tyres. So it may fall a bit short.

Ok I went off for diner, I come back and Magnussen has crashed. Looks pretty serious I don't understand the onboard cam, looks like the direction column failed or something ? Someone knows more ?

New teams have 14 sets! Just joged my meory a bit!
I think it was a suspension failure. The car seemed to turn right towards the wall. Track rod/wish bone is my thinking!

Where did you see that mate ? Can't find it. New comers have more engines for the season but I see nothing regarding tyres ? BTW it's 12 sets + 4 tyres (the ones already fitted, worn or new, I guess)
