The FIA WEC has started its 4th season and is bigger then ever, with big names like Porsche, Nissan, Aston martin, Audi, Toyota and Ferrari. It is also the biggest series in terms of manufacture interest (F1 only has 3!) with more hinting at joining the party like McLaren (GTE), Pergeot (LMP1) and Ferrari (LMP1).
here is where we can discus the goings on in the WEC and Le Mans. The only way is up for the WEC!
I will update the OP as stuff happens!

It would be great to see what Ferrari could do, especially with this!:

I love my endurance racing, and I cannot wait to see the 'Low-Downforce' Aero Kit on the Audi debut this weekend at Spa, if it does indeed get used there.
Bit disappointed with news this morning that Ben Bowlby has confirmed it will be FWD only instead of AWD, due to complications with the ERS system.

yea Audi number 7 and 8 will be running low drag config. this is weird as the 9 car that will be only racing a Le Mans is running the high dowforce as it will be running low at Le Mans.
FWD Nissan is old news, the Nissan REP at Silverstone was telling people about it.

I kinda had Audi down for winning the race to be fair, although I do have a habit of rooting for the underdog. That and... The team do so much through not just the technology, but their ethics and the human aspect of motorsport, they are completely astounding. Didn't realise H had stepped down from being lead engineer, but Leena has more than filled that void.

I want to believe Toyota is hiding its game, working hard on reliability and could be a serious contender to victory. I hope Porsche can be too but I have the feeling their car is too new and out of control, I won't be surprised if at least 2 cars have retire before the end. They are like Toyota last year, very quick but lacks reliability. For Nissan it would be amazing if they finish the race to start with... I don't think they will be competitive. Otherwise it would be an epic achievement. Audi... well it's Audi. And they upped they game even more. They seriously regained pace this year so it will be even harder than last year to beat them !

Looking forward to Le Mans it will be the first I've been able to watch I'm a bit behind with WEC on my knowledge, but I thought Nissan were LMP2? Not sure who i'm supporting yet. Either Porsche or Audi

Looking forward to Le Mans it will be the first I've been able to watch I'm a bit behind with WEC on my knowledge, but I thought Nissan were LMP2? Not sure who i'm supporting yet. Either Porsche or Audi Yes Nissan provides engine (and chassis ?) for teams in P2 but this year they enter LMP1 as a factory team with the GT-R LM. Last year Toyota lead comfortably from start until they had issues and retired in the very early morning then #20 Porsche (Bernhard/Webber/Hartley) eventually took the lead but had serious issues at noon. Then Audi #2 (Tréluyer/Lotterer/Fässler) who had stopped 45 minutes and thus was way behind due to turbo issues (if I remember correctly) pushed hard and eventually took the win. I've stated my prediction above, Toyota could play the long game if they indeed focused on reliability and I have the feeling Porsche is following the same path as Toyota last year. But this doesn't matter anyway because Audi is rock solid this season, it'll take more than average speed and reliability to bring the trophy home. Audi was quite slow on the straights last year (Fuji ), but with their improved KERS (4MJ class rather than 2) it is less significant now. With proven technology under the hood they probably have the best chances on long races.

yea the P2 situation is complicated. there are no manufactures in P2 just branding. have a look at this, it has analisis of every car that raced at le mans from 2011 to 2014. it will be updated soon and have the 2015 cars as well www.racecar-engineering.com/lemans/the engine used by Nissan P2 is actually a road car engine tuned to race, but it is not made by Nissan. it is made by Oreca and nissan choose to brand it a Nissan. The Nissan engine is not made by Nissan but it is a Nissan engine. did yo know the engine used in GP2 and GP3 is actually a Nissan? the Judd engine is a BMW the Honda engine is a... vauxhall! XD NO, im joking. its a Honda but its the same story as Nissan and its not made by Honda. I would tell you more, but you didn't understand everything elese i said XD this is very intesting analisis of the last 2 rounds: www.dailysportscar.com/2015/05/29/wec-silverstonespa-review-le-mans-preview.html

i'm getting really excited, my first live le mans I've decided to support Porsche. I was torn between the 2 german teams. I thought that many will support audi and I like underdogs, plus webber so i'll cheer on Porsche. I did want Nissan to do well but not now I know they didn't make their car. and will cheer aston martin on further down the field

What do you meen they didnt make there car? Toyotas cars are raced by oreaca. I don't know the details, but most of the Toyota is made by different companies.
Nissan employees all the people currently making and running the cars. Just cuz it was developed in the US dosent meen its not a Nissan.

that's what I mean, if you want to say you're running a car, the company needs to design and make the car themselves, such as the engine, it's upsetting how teams try take the credit
